Nature smells great. Why mess with that?
We're a small studio making natural, fresh, wild-smelling candles in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Unlike virtually all other candle companies, we refuse to use weird artificial fragrance chemicals; we scent our candles exclusively with plants, in the form of aromatherapy-grade essential oils.

Our candles are strictly scented using plants.
Our scents smell like a rain-soaked forest, or a scruffy, sagebrush-lined desert trail. Some even give off a "wet pile of leaves" vibe.
This is possible because of steam-distilled essential oils, which capture a snapshot of the exact smells found in nature.
We refuse to use "fragrance oils".
It's likely that every candle you've ever smelled heavily features artificial fragrance oils, even candles with natural-sounding titles.
Like anything else industrial, candle companies use them because they're extremely cheap, and hold up well during mass production.
Gathering and processing raw, botanical plant matter isn't as scalable, but for us, "scalable" isn't something we want to stick our noses in (or spark up in our homes).
Great ingredients require great care.
Plant essences are delicate and require careful handling and attention. Our candles are methodically hand-made in batches of four.
They're cured for a minimum of 4 weeks before being wrapped in a Japanese-style washi paper, boxed, and delivered.
It's a lot of work, but based on the results, we know it's worth it.
Featured Candles
Blends
Each candle contains a carefully selected bouquet of essential oils that create an evocation of nature. Blends can smell woodsy, floral, herbaceous, or a combination of the three.
Woodland Romp
The smell of roaming through a late-spring forest, and coming to a sun-drenched clearing, full of wildflowers.
Woodsy base notes provided by siberian fir needle and palo santo. Fresh middle and floral top notes provided by bergamot, blood orange, and high-altitude lavender. Bound together by vetiver and brazilian copaiba balsam.
Lil' Snuggler
A dreamy blend of herbs and flowers known in aromatherapy for deep relaxation, with roman chamomile starring the show. Soft, comforting, not unlike a cup of herbal tea.
Soft base note provided by frankincense, with floral and herbaceous middle and top notes provided by roman chamomile, bergamot, lavender, and clary sage, fixed in vetiver.
Spice World
Imagine waking up one morning on a foreign planet - one made entirely of cinnamon. It'd smell great, but the experience would also be terrifying (how are you getting home?). If at least the smell part of that fantasy sounds good, but you'd prefer to skip the rest, you'll love this candle
Subtly sweet, chai-like spiced middle and top notes afforded by a hefty amount of true ceylon cinnamon, paired with clove bud, clove leaf, and mandarin orange.
Single oil candles
Our single oil candles give you exactly what you're looking for - the simplicity and confidence of exactly the scent you're after, derived from its source in nature. The oils we chose for this line are, on their own, incredibly complex and satisfying.
Just Palo Santo
Woodsy, earthy, and grounding. A candle we didn't set out to make, but had to - every other Palo Santo candle we've come across is either a synthetic substitute, or a token amount of Palo Santo heavily diluted with industrial fragrance oils
The name says it all. Just Palo Santo is scented exclusively with sustainably-harvested Ecuadorian palo santo.
Just Sage
Smoky, cleansing, and purifying. A great way to add the scent of burning sage to the background of a room in a gentle and ambient way.
